Marshmallow 6.0.1 note 4 problems12/24/2022 As an FYI for everyone here, if you have anything 3rd party attached to your phone (charger, battery, software, etc.), replace it with OEM BEFORE you visit Samsung as manufactures will ALWAYS blame 3rd party equipment for failure if the product does not function as intended. If this does not fix it, Samsung will replace the phone with a refurbished model. I went ahead and ordered an OEM Samsung battery direct from Samsung and it should be here tomorrow. As this thread is for Note 4 users, I would assume that most users have replacement batteries since the phones are "old". These are common symptoms of battery failure. This kind of makes sense, as when my phone did turn on, the battery got very hot, I lost power very quickly and software was incredibly slow. Their explanation is that the update is not compatible with many 3rd party batteries (and the AT&T software is actually newer and a different version than the Samsung Hardware is developed to use or support). They claim most of the users with Note 4's are experiencing the issues due to non-Samsung manufactured batteries. I have talked to AT&T, Samsung corporate and Samsung support at Best Buy. I turned on the setting that will delete all older messages over 500 (my wife kept her setting off and is painstakingly deleting messages manually as she does not want to lose choice messages from the kids). We reduced the number of messaging app "conversations" to 20 or less. we turned off "advanced messaging" in AT&T messaging apps settings as we were sending but never successfully receiving pictures sent via the ATT messaging app (plus we never liked the feature of selecting a picture from gallery or camera which would then automatically send it without allowing us to enter some text along with it prior to tapping send and the feature that is supposed to notify us when a text message was sent or received was extremely inconsistent). The Galaxy Note 4 comes in 32GB and is available in Charcoal Black or Frost White.Hi and some additional actions that seemed to help using the built in ATT messaging app on both of our Galaxy note 4 marshmallow (6.0.1) updated to the latest pushed released phones.
